Job Purpose

The Business Development Executive is responsible for generating sales leads, converting walk-in and referred clients, and building strong customer relationships by leveraging the showroom as a primary customer engagement and conversion point. This role works closely with the Customer Success Team to ensure all client specifications are accurately captured, production-ready, and delivered within agreed timelines. Beyond managing existing client opportunities, the Business Development Executive also plays a key role in creating market demand, identifying and engaging new customer segments, and securing new projects or business partnerships that contribute to the company’s long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

  • Establish and engage with new clients in a professional manner, leveraging expert product knowledge to effectively convert them into paying customers.

  • Identify and approach potential clients in sectors like interior design, architecture, real estate, and corporate procurement, expanding the client base through networking and outreach.

  • Qualify and follow up on leads from various channels (walk-ins, social media, referrals, campaigns), guiding them to close deals.

  • Prepare and present tailored quotations, proposals, and presentations based on client needs, ensuring alignment with product offerings and budgets.

  • Lead negotiations and manage the sales process from initial contact through to contract agreement.

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client profiles in the CRM system, ensuring timely updates and follow-ups.

  • Collaborate with the Customer Success Team Lead to ensure a smooth client onboarding process and provide timely updates and post-sale support.

  • Work closely with the showroom and logistics teams to ensure accurate order entry, fulfillment timelines, and on-time delivery, proactively addressing potential issues.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, focusing on fostering repeat business and generating referrals.

  • Monitor client feedback and escalate concerns to relevant departments to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct site visits as needed to offer consultations, assist with product recommendations, or resolve client issues.

  • Stay informed about competitors, market trends, and industry pricing to maintain the company’s competitive edge.

  • Regularly update product knowledge to offer clients expert advice on features, customization, and design options.

  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings to ensure alignment with company goals and customer expectations.

  • Support the marketing team in campaigns, product launches, open days, and exhibitions to generate awareness and business growth.

  • Assist in showroom merchandising, product displays, and maintaining showroom cleanliness to enhance customer experience.

  • Identify new market segments or customer types to generate fresh business opportunities and revenue streams.

  • Provide management and product development teams with insights based on customer feedback and market analysis to improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.

Job Dimensions:

Financial Responsibility:

  • Contributes directly to monthly and quarterly revenue targets.

  • Advises on discounts and promotional pricing within pre-approved margins.

  • Assists in tracking payment status and ensuring timely collections in coordination with the Customer Success team.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily based at the showroom with regular field visits to client sites, vendor meetings, or events.

  • High level of collaboration with internal teams: customer success, logistics, and showroom operations.

Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).

Academic Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Interior Design, or related field.

  • Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies

  • CRM or Sales certification (preferred).

  • Training in customer service or interior solutions (an added advantage)

Work experience required.

  • 5 years in business development or showroom sales, ideally in furniture, interior products, or home improvement sectors.
