About the Role:

The company is looking for a Software Engineer (Full-Stack) to join their team in Palo Alto, CA. This is a high-impact role for someone eager to take ownership of end-to-end development, from designing scalable backend systems to crafting intuitive user interfaces. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex problems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is ready to contribute to building a product from the ground up.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Palo Alto, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Develop robust web applications: Build responsive, high-performance, and user-friendly applications using modern full-stack technologies, with high ownership of UI/UX design and implementation.

• Build scalable systems: Design, implement, and maintain APIs and backend systems that can handle high loads reliably.

• Collaborate on architecture and security: Contribute to system architecture, conduct code reviews, and address security vulnerabilities to ensure a secure and maintainable product.

• Optimize performance: Profile, debug, and optimize applications to achieve top-notch performance and user experience.

• Empathize with users: Balance user experience with engineering constraints to deliver effective and intuitive solutions.

Requirements:

• Experience: 0-4 years as a Software Engineer, preferably with experience building products from 0-1.

• Technical skills: Expertise in building scalable backends using modern server-side languages (e.g., JavaScript, Golang, Ruby, Rust). Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).

• System knowledge: Professional experience with Linux systems and tools.

• Specialized experience: Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant system development.

• Problem-solving mindset: Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Work flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

• Background: CS degree or equivalent from a top university (e.g., MIT, Stanford, Ivy League). No more than 2 years in large companies like Google or Meta.
